Describe the calling you felt to ministry.
All through high school I was encouraged to pursue a career in engineering because I was good at math and science. I began college pursuing a major in Biomedical Engineering, but after the first year I was bored to death. I had recently put my faith and trust in Christ, and came to understood this was the Holy Spirit nudging me into His plan for my life – teaching kids. I transferred to a Christian college, switched my major to education, and have been working with kids ever since.
How did you end up in Callahan, FL?
I have always followed God’s call to serve, no matter where, even in other countries. In April of 2017, that call to serve led me to Callahan.
What phrase from the Bible do you cling to when going through tough times?
Philippians 1:6 — And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ
If you could change places with a Bible Character, who would you choose and why?
The little boy that shared his two fish and five loaves. I would tell everyone, for the rest of my life, that Jesus accepted my small gift and used it to meet the needs of over 5,000 people.
What household chore do you hate the most?
Dusting… I hate having to move things, dust, and then TRY to get them all back in the correct spot.
If you could go back to high-school, what is a piece of advice you would tell yourself?
This, too, shall pass. Don’t try to live your life to be recognized or approved by others… especially those who do not care whether you succeed or not.
